I am Rafael Canete, and I maintain Mithi. I originally conceived it as book review blog, but now I also post film reviews, as well as commentaries on popular culture.
Why name my blog Mithi? From the very start, I have stuck to the idea of naming my blog with a Filipino word. I first toyed with the idea of naming it haraya, Filipino word for imagination. However, a quick Google search revealed that a handful of blogs with the same name already exists. Then the term mithi floated by, which I thought is appropriate since I would mostly review novels where a character struggles to achieve his or her goal – the esence of all fiction.
